Community gardens in the Hutt Valley

Operation Green Thumb

There's a thriving group of community gardens popping up around the Hutt Valley. If you'd like to grow your skills as a gardener and enjoy the promise of freshly harvested year round goodness then join a community garden near you.

Firstly though, here's some useful information from,  "Operation Green Thumbs" that will shed some light on how to rotate and plan your plantings and tasks throughout the year. Hutt City Sustainable Living has some great courses and information that could help you set up a community garden. And here's a brouchure on using pallets to make raised beds.
